Petunia

Petunia likes to lick the palm of my hand; I don't mind, it seems to relax us both. Petunia has much to be stressed about: she's diabetic and as a result, has cataracts. She just recently had one of the cataracts removed, and is doing quite well.

Petunia is an 8-year-old Pug. She is not fat, but she is short for her weight. Like all pugs, she likes to eat. Her diabetes is under control with twice daily insulin shots; she gets two drops in her eye four times a day. She tolerates the insulin shots with no problem, but is getting very annoyed with the eye drops. She gives a look that says "I don't need no stinkin' eyedrops!"

Other than her aversion to the drops, she is a pretty easy-going personality. As the biggest of our three pugs, and the first one (out of this trio) to live with us, one would assume she was the Alpha female. Occasionally she'll assume that role, but mostly she abdicates.

More later.
